Akpoghenobo “Akpo” Omene is a multifaceted leader and entrepreneur with
a remarkable track record in both the dental and corporate sectors. As the
visionary Founder & CEO of Dentify, he has spearheaded the organization's
mission to revolutionize oral healthcare experiences since its inception in
February 2017, driving strategic growth and establishing Dentify as a
pioneering force in the dental industry. Alongside his role at Dentify, Akpo
serves as the Managing Partner of several dental practices, including Main
Line Dental Club, Phoenixville Dental, Glen Mills Dental, and formerly
Omene Family and Cosmetic Dentistry, leveraging over a decade of
experience in dental management to optimize operations and elevate patient
care standards across these practices. Prior to his entrepreneurial pursuits in
dentistry, Akpo demonstrated his leadership acumen as the Director of
Operations at Gomene, where he streamlined processes and fostered
organizational success. Committed to innovation and healthcare excellence,
Akpo continues to drive Dentify and its affiliated practices towards a future
characterized by unparalleled success and patient satisfaction.

Vice Chairman
Carlos A. Mejia Rodríguez is a dedicated public health professional with
extensive experience in program management, community engagement, and
consulting. He has a proven track record of leadership in various roles
spanning over three decades, focusing on health equity, cultural competency,
and community empowerment. Carlos is passionate about addressing health
disparities, particularly among underserved populations, and has
spearheaded numerous initiatives aimed at promoting wellness and
preventing substance use, violence, and suicide. With a strong commitment
to capacity building and mentorship, he serves as Board of Directors for several organizations. Carlos is fluent in English, and Spanish, with
proficiency in Italian and Portuguese.

Treasurer
Ugochukwu Abanum is a seasoned Chartered Accountant and currently
serves as the Chief Financial Officer for a leading pan-African bank based in
New York. With an MBA from Warwick Business School in Coventry, United
Kingdom, and a BSc degree in Estate Management, he brings a robust
educational background to his role. Ugochukwu is a distinguished member of
both the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) and the
Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), where he was honored
with the prestigious ICAN National Overall Best Prize award. As Treasurer for
our Board of Directors, he leverages over fifteen years of executive-level
experience in areas such as audit and assurance, accounting advisory,
financial control and reporting, as well as performance management and
strategy.

Dr. Serena Omo-Lamai, PhD is a distinguished bioengineering researcher
specializing in nanomedicine and drug delivery, particularly focusing on
immunology and targeted therapy. Graduating summa cum laude with a
Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering from Syracuse University, she
completed her Doctor of Philosophy in Bioengineering at the University of
Pennsylvania. Serena has received prestigious fellowships from the
American Heart Association and the PhRMA Foundation, along with
numerous accolades for her research contributions. She has presented her
work at various symposiums and authored several publications in esteemed
journals, solidifying her reputation as an expert in nanomedicine. Beyond her
academic achievements, Serena has shown strong leadership qualities,
serving in key roles such as Chair of the Gordon Research Seminar and
Vice-President of the Engineering World Health chapter at Syracuse
University. Committed to community outreach, she actively mentors and
engages in initiatives to promote STEM education in underserved
communities.

Dr. Nasong'o is a distinguished scholar with a profound academic
background and extensive professional experience in the realm of
international studies and political science. Holding a Ph.D. in Public and
International Affairs from Northeastern University, he has honed his expertise
in Comparative Politics and International Relations, with a particular focus on
democratization, authoritarianism, and inter-state relations, notably in African
contexts such as Kenya and Zambia. Dr. Nasong'o has held esteemed
academic positions at institutions like Rhodes College, Kenyatta University,
and the University of Nairobi, where he has imparted knowledge through
courses spanning political science, international relations, and history. His
contributions to academia have been widely recognized, earning him
prestigious fellowships, grants, and honors, including the Carnegie African
Diaspora Fellowship and the Fulbright Fellowship. Dr. Nasong'o's
commitment to advancing scholarship is evident through his participation in
field research projects, receipt of awards for outstanding research and
creative activity, and engagement in international academic programs and
institutes, all of which have further enriched his expertise and contributed to
his esteemed reputation in the field.

Funmi Yusuf is an experienced professional with a background in travel
management and operations. Currently employed at WWC Federal, a Pequot
Company, Funmi manages a range of services for program-funded staff at
USAID. With previous roles at the United States Agency for International
Development (USAID), American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases
(AASLD), and American Nurses Association (ANA), she has extensive
experience in program coordination, faculty management, and product
development within healthcare organizations. Funmi holds a Master of
Science in Management in Healthcare Administration from the University of
Maryland Global Campus, and a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from
Howard University.
