Our Programs

How We Help

Founded in 2022, CIMS helps refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers, and other newcomer families across Greater Philadelphia achieve successful integration, stability, and self-sufficiency.

Our work is organized around three core initiatives — Education Pathways, Mental & Behavioral Health, and Policy Advocacy — complemented by direct support services including food distribution, housing navigation, and digital access.

Three Pillars of Our Work

Education Pathways
01

Education Pathways

Expanding access to learning and economic opportunity for newcomer families. Our Education Pathways initiative includes GED and adult literacy classes, school enrollment support, credential evaluation, workforce readiness coaching, and professional development — equipping migrants with the knowledge and skills to build a stronger future.

02

Mental & Behavioral Health Initiative (MBHI)

Promoting emotional wellness and family resilience through culturally responsive care. MBHI provides trauma-informed mental health services, Ubuntu healing circles, interpreter-supported counseling, and community-based support groups — addressing the unique psychological needs of refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrant families.

03

Policy Advocacy & Direct Action

Through our active membership in the Pennsylvania Immigration Coalition (PIC), CIMS advances immigrant rights, strengthens community leadership, and works to expand access to services and opportunities. We amplify migrant voices in policy spaces and advocate for systemic change at local and state levels.
